Getting started with FreeStyle Libre 2 system is easy2:

  2. Order your free of charge FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor using the form on this page
  3. Watch the FreeStyle Libre 2 Starter Clinic video (there will be a link to the video in your confirmation email)

Once you've downloaded FreeStyle LibreLink, open the app and follow the on-screen set-up instructions. In order to upload data from the FreeStyle LibreLink app to LibreView, you'll need to have a LibreView account. You can either register or login to an existing LibreView account during the app setup.

Why create an account?

  • Your glucose readings will be automaticallyǁ uploaded to LibreViewΔ — no meter or reader cables required
  • Your personal glucose information is stored on a secure1, cloud-based system, and can be shared with your HealthCare Professionals for effective consultations
  • If you change phones, you can sign into the app and your information goes with you

2. Order your FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor

Request your free of charge FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor kit (contains one FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor pack, one sensor applicator, product insert).

Important: As part of our instructions for sensor application you will require alcohol wipes. Alcohol wipes are not provided in the sensor pack but are readily available at minimal cost from pharmacies and other retailers.

Please note: The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor can take up to 7 days to arrive, so order plenty of time in advance.

† Finger pricks are required if your glucose readings and alarms do not match symptoms or expectations.

‡ Important Information: If you start your FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor with your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader you will not receive real-time glucose readings, even if you use the updated FreeStyle LibreLink app as your second device. You will need to scan to get your glucose reading on both devices. Glucose alarms are only received on the device used to start the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor.
